A cozy bookshop, a murdered manager, and a reading group that decides to play detective — Murder by the Book has all the right cozy mystery ingredients. I loved the concept and the bookstore setting, but the four rotating narrators kept me at arm’s length from the sleuthing, and the final motive didn’t quite land for me. A decent, bookish whodunnit, but not a series I’ll be racing back to.
