Book Blurb:
Every December in the small Vermont town of Silver Springs, a strange holiday tradition unfolds: glitter-covered envelopes carrying cruel, anonymous notes arrive around town. When Laura Evansās boss and friends find themselves on the receiving end, she canāt let it slide. Alongside her landlady Evelyn, her friend Jasmine, and the ever-helpful Maplewood Crafters Club, Laura sets out to trace the culprit, somewhere between cookies, cocoa, and community gossip. But uncovering the truth during the season of goodwill isnāt simple. Sometimes, the hardest part of solving a mystery is deciding what to do next.
Let’s Talk About The Book:
Sliding back into Silver Springs felt like stepping into a snow globe where someone swapped the glitter for glitter bombs, which are sharp, sparkly, and definitely suspicious. Gifts of Goodwill might be a bite-sized mystery at just 53 pages, but it packs the cozy charm of a full-length novel. The anonymous holiday cards were such a deliciously petty twist on small-town traditions that I was instantly hooked. And Laura is still the kind of heroine who’ll hand you a mug of peppermint hot chocolate while also dragging you into seasonal sleuthing with a smile.
What I loved most was how the mystery balanced sweetness with sting. Every suspect had just enough motive to keep me guessing, and the Maplewood Crafters Club continues to be the adorable chaos engine this town didnāt know it needed. Iām telling you, the fact that a group armed with glue guns and cinnamon-sugar cookies can crack a case faster than the authorities feels incredibly on-brand for a cozy mystery, and I’m here for it.
And tucked under the tinsel and red herrings is a genuinely heartwarming message about kindness, accountability, and the impact of our words. That final emotional beat hits exactly where a holiday cozy should, right in the feelings, like a well-timed Hallmark moment with a twist.
Would I Recommend it?
If you need a one-sitting, feel-good mystery that still dares to tug a heartstring, grab this immediately. Perfect for when you want Christmas coziness with a dash of accountability and zero calories. Add this tiny gem to your TBR right now. Your holiday reading slump doesnāt stand a chance.
